SAM Project

What I learned from Word Projects

I have learned many tools and tricks on Word by using SAM. SAM is a very useful tool for beginners who want to learn about microsoft and the products offered. Some of these products offered include Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and more. Before using SAM I only knew how to do basic tasks on word. These tasks were typing and spacing. In just a couple of weeks I feel as if I know a majority of the shortcuts. I now know how to create resume’s and edit different aspects of documents. While I was learning about Word I learned how to change the size, color, and print of a font. I also learned how to add borders, columns, and text boxes. Lastly, I learned how to format paragraphs, titles, and the entire document.

What I learned from Excel Projects

Excel is a really good program offered by Word. It has taught me many tricks that I did not know in the past. I never used excel but by learning it through SAM the process has been easy. I have picked up a lot of useful information from excel. To begin, I now know how to sort data and organize it. If there is a duplicate row I can delete it without deleting any crucial information as well. Excel has the ability to do certain math functions that ease up the work load. For example, once you type the equal sign a variety of functions pop up. To name a few they include adding, subtracting, and multiplying. Lastly, I learned how to auto filter data and round up numbers.

What I learned from Access Projects

Access is a very complicated but reliable program. It is used for databases. When using access you can store information and analyze it. The database helps you manage a large amount of information in one place that would be complicated without access. The first concept I learned was how to create a database. The next concept I learned was how to create tables and queries. These tables and queries store the data that you use. Each record gets placed in a separate row of the table. In order to save the data in a specific spot of the table you would need to create a form. Everything in access works together. You have to put them together like puzzle pieces.
